It is often said "when a student is ready, the teacher appears". It may also be true to say "when the people are ready, the next step in healing appears".
I became certified in 1997, through the Reflexology Association of Canada (RAC). I have always been interested in alternative healing, natural remedies, the connection between mind and body, and believe the body can heal itself.
I have successfully completed an intensive study in hand reflexology, auricular and hot-stone reflexology, Auricular (or ear reflexology) uses fingertips to stimulate the reflexes on the ear for a deeply relaxing session that helps to balance the nervous system, as an adjunct to foot or hand reflexology.
The next step for me was learning Reiki. I felt this would be a beneficial addition to reflexology. These two holistic modalities can be incorporated into a wonderfully relaxing session....
More recently, another new holistic practice caught my interest: Indian Head Massage! Ohhh.....blissful.........
I also make my own natural deodorant, lip balms, body butters and soaps the "old-fashioned" way using a variety of oils & essential oils - NOT the craft-store melt n' pour! After reading up on so many products which use carcinogenic chemicals, under the cloak of 'natural' I became disgusted and thought there must be something better...."why can't I make my own products?" So I did! I LOVE being creative with my homemade goods. Specifically, I like the fact that I know exactly what goes into my products. No chemicals, no dyes, only natural & organic ingredients. Did you know that what goes on your skin, goes into your body - within 26 seconds!? Whether it begins with the oils I select when making a new batch of soap, the additives used for texture or the essential oils I use to scent my products - nothing harsh for your skin and NO PRESERVATIVES - just handmade, ALL-NATURAL! A definite 'addiction' of mine!
I am a member of the Reflexology Association of British Columbia.
